I hate my job. Well, I don’t hate my job, but I hate what I do…I work in a call center. I’ve been doing it for almost 7 years, and it’s tiresome. However, I don’t know what I want to do with my life, so I’ve decided that Medical Billing and Coding would get me off the phones and still make the money I’m making now, or maybe a little more.

My problem is, no matter where I look, I can’t get any viable information without someone trying to sell me THEIR program, and I’m confused as to what I should be looking for. My local college (College of Southern Nevada) wants me to enter a very competitive program that will take a minimum of three years, and compete against other people for 10 allowed spots a year. UNLV wants ,000 for a 6-12 month program, University of Phoenix wants the same amount of money but they think I should major in Medical Office management, which I don’t want to do. The rest of the schools I’ve looked at, with the exception of one, has nothing but negative reviews and comments about it.

I did find one online college called Blackstone Career Institute, and I can’t seem to find any negative reviews about it. It was also mentioned positively from a few (seemingly) sources, and the tuition is definitely doable. It’s both nationally and regionally accredited, but I’m not sure exactly WHAT I should be looking for. Can someone give me some input? I really need to get off this leash in my cage (phone in my cubicle). Thanks!
