You know you’re addicted when you can’t go a day or two without using one of them.
A good test would be to try giving up texting and IM for a weekend – if you can do it then yes, you’re not addicted. If however you can’t go even that long without doing it – I’d say you’re addicted.
when you’re texting someone that is close to you instead of just speaking to them. You also are texting alot…that is a sure sign…i mean like 24/7…it’s better to speak to people face to face…but if you text rather than speak to them….then yea…you’re addicted…
Try putting the phone down or signing off IM for 10 minutes, if you cannot, you are addicted.
Signs would be 4-5+ hours a day texting/im.
An addiction shows it’s ugly head when something keeps you from enjoying other aspects of your life! If it is taking all your time or interfering with your relationships, you may be addicted to it.
umm..when u sign on more than 3 times a day, when ur always waiting for someone to sign on, when u cant go a day without ur phone or im.
we you can tyope the letters in without looking and when evey time you get a chance your pulling out your phone for more text messaging.
Honestly okay this:
You open your phone just to look at the backround and wait for the text symbol thing to pop up.
You sign on your IM and just look at whos online.
You can never put your phone down.
You sign on IM at your friends houses.
And I guess theres more, but those are the BIG ones!

Anytime something interferes with what you should be doing….you may be addicted.
I feel you are addicted if you are using time texting, and not spending time w/ your family.. which can’t be replaced.. time goes by so quickly.
Or, if it is the last thing you do at night, and the first when u awake………..
Or, if you go over your alloted minutes.. or use it at school.
Try pay-as-you-go and see how much it is costing you to txt each week…then multiply it by 52 weeks and see how much it costs you per year.
When texting starts interfering with other aspects of your life and you can’t stop texting then you may be addicted.
uhmm if ur parents pay for ur phone bill, ask em if they pay alot.. if they dont pay alot.. well c ur own bill
if u get unlimited text.. then u prob r addicted
for im.. well i know if u go to ur aim screen name thing, it says how many ims u send and receive an hour.. soo compare that 2 ur friends and c if its more
if ur an im addict u hav yahoo, aim, and msn messenger then u mite b an addict
well i don’t know but my instinct say that if u feel more happy or sad to read a message than listen or if u like to type the feelings rather than speak and if you feel good to be a alone in a crowd and if u unable the judge the expressions or message from eyes than i think u r addicted well its a good sign but not go deep in this addiction because you will loose your social interaction or rules of open talk with a person face to face. so i will suggest that make a balance between them and good wishes for life.
My friend leaves her phone on so she can hear them in the middle of the night. Plus, she and I went on vacation from Indiana to Nashville, Tennessee and she text messaged almost all the way there and she was driving!! i had to yell at her twice to pay attention. the first time was when we were closing in on some traffic that was backed up along the highway because of a wreck. And, the second time, we were in downtown Nashville in alot of traffic, and she was still text messaging. She can do it without even looking at the keypad. Are there any contests? I think she would win.
You’re on it constantly. CONSTANTLY CONSTANTLY CONSTANTLy. When someone tells you to stop. you CAN"T you just CAN"T.
and when you can do the whole txt message thing without looking down and making sure you’re spelling is correct or anything
if it seems its taking most of your time texting/im. that you’re almost lazy to do other important things. ( like me, until now, i havent fixed my messy closet.

when you have blisters on your thumbs
you know when your addicted to messaging when you cant go a week without doing it. some tips to do to stop text messaging is to spend time with family and friends and go to new exciting places that you have never had went to before.
good luck!
IF you are asking the question and thinking about what your doing… MOST likely your fine!!
Crazy people don”t ask if they are crazy RIGHT??
You should also think about things that you need to do and are not getting done…… this would be the start of a much bigger problem.
Sort out and find a good balance.
Best of luck
They said that my country is the texting capital of the world.
You know that you are addicted if
1. you keep your mobile phone closeby
2. you keep checking if there is an incoming message
3. except when you are doing mass marketing, you are
sending more than fifty (50) text messages during your
walking hours
Addicted to text messaging? I don’t think your looking at the big picture. People aren’t addicted to smoking. They are addicted to the nicotine they inhale which stimulates the blah..blah.. okay?
Someone isn’t addicted to text messaging. They are addicted to the fact that they have quick easy communication with all of their friends are are able to have multiple conversations at once. Being on the phone limits you to one person, but text messaging is like a big chat room.
Your addicted to text messaging when in the case that your phone breaks or is taken away you feel like you are out of the loop and your going to miss something awesome because your friends can’t contact you. Sure, everyone might feel like that in a way, but it’s the addiction that brings it to a hysterical level.
Hope that gives you something to think about.
when u keep texting ppl and it’s annoying them
