All I want is data and skype. I’m no longer paying these cell phone fees. Companies get rich and we overpay them. Let someone else pay them. How can I get cheap text messaging? Skype only does skype to skype. Any ideas? Or does stand alone text messaging not exist.

Why cant the number negotiation and switching not be done on the cell phone itself? Shouldn’t it at least be able to find another cell number in the same radius as the nearest cell tower? So each cell phone acts like a mini portable tower (but theres lots of them, sharing the load).
