My mother’s vision & hearing are both going. She can still see & hear, just nowhere near as good as she used to. I’m trying to find a phone that will help her out. I found an "amplified" phone, so she’ll hear better on it & it has speed dial buttons where you can put photos, for easier calling. I also found a caller ID that talks. It tells the programmed NAME of the person calling (not just the #), the only thing is it doesn’t have a display. So then I found a LARGE disply caller ID. I’m not sure, but it would be nice if I could also program the name of the frequent people that call into it, since most people who call have their phones under other names. I want to make is EASY for mom to know whose calling. A combo of ALL of these into one would be great. Or at the talking caller ID w/jumbo screen. If it doesn’t exist, is it possible to have 2 caller ID’s hkd up 2 the same phone? Thanks!

In short, house phone is always forwarded to my mom’s cell phone. We can still make calls on the house phone though. Will calls made on the house phone be charged to the cell phone or show up on the cell phone bill at all?

My ex-boyfriend and my best friend’s cell phone numbers are freakishly close and after dating my boyfriend for over a year it became habit to just dial his cell number when I would dial 526-3 and I accidentally dialed his number instead of hers. My mom hates him and told me that she doesn’t want me to ever call him because she was the reason we had to break up. It honestly was an accident but if I tell her she might flip out. I don’t want her to find out but I don’t know if it will be on the bill. That leads me to my question: on the phone bill for verizon, can you see incoming and outgoing calls?
Please help.
I forgot to add that when I called him, he answered before I hung up. We had talked for about ten or fifteen minutes. I just don’t want my mom to find out. I don’t have a problem with him but she does.

My mom is getting an iphone. Right now, at&t has a deal running where if you buy a smartphone, you get a free messaging phone. I was wondering if I would be able to get the free messaging phone, even though I recently recieved an upgrade about 6 months ago.

Earlier this week, I saw a posting on one of my college’s bulletin boards about a job posting for "filling out simple applications" for an hour, with a mention of an additional pay scale of – per application. The only requirements were that I had to be able to submit the applications, and to be able to take inbound calls.
I’ve been constantly scolded about my mom about considering calling the number, though the only possible catch she can come up with that is clearly evident is that they want me to be right next to a phone as I work. I don’t know how tech-savvy they are, so her claims I’d need to drive around might be nixed by simply faxing things to them. I’d also add the college’s very persnickety about rules, so I expect they examined what these people are hiring for before they let them put the posting up.
In a nutshell, can anyone determine if there’s anything I should be careful about, should I call? I’d be happy to hear if anyone else has ever had a situation like this too. Thanks!

I am looking for a prepaid phone for my mom, who is now a senior citizen. I heard something about double minutes for a certain prepaid phone but do not remember what that was for. Does anybody have any suggestions? She does not make many phone calls, so I think prepaid is the best for her, and if there is a phone with double minutes (hope there isn’t a catch there), then great. Thanks in advance.

It’s my dad’s 8320 which I recently started using. It was working perfectly fine until my old number was switched over today by my provider, 711 speakout.
Instantly after it was switched, I tried multiple times to send test messages to my mom’s cell and none went through. BUT my blackberry thinks they did, there’s a green check mark instead of a red x.
Now after I’ve tried rebooting it and changing settings it seems like more of the texts go through, but not all of them. I also can’t place outgoing calls, it says "the customer you’re trying to reach is unavailable" (but I know they are, I tried the home phone). When people send me things I seem to be receiving all of them.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I’m very frustrated since all I even really need is to send out texts and can’t even do that.

I recently have been laid off and need money very quickly. I also am a mom and would like to work at home if I can find legitimate work. NO SCAMS please, I can’t afford another screw up.

I’m in college and all of my friends use text messaging as their main form of communication. My mom won’t put text messaging on our phone plan, what’s the best way to get her to see how much more efficient it is?
