We got Cox cable based phone service and internet last month. We had planned on using a wireless router for our laptops. However we can’t get the router to work. The router claims it can use windows XP which we have but all we get is a message sayiny it can’t support the device.

Could our pc be too old? It is about 7-8 years old.

I would like to use the htc thunderbolt from verizon in the cricket or or net10 phone service!
Has there been any flashing service available for this phone?
I belive this new phone from verizon is the only phone that uses a (gsm) sim chip vrs a cdma like most verizon phones! so it may well be not suitable for cricket service! but it could for other phone companies!

I am moving into a new building, and was recently informed that all tenants must provide their phone numbers to have an active doorbell. I’ve never heard of this before? But then I’ve always lived in older buildings. Can someone explain how this works, and why management offices are doing this? What happens if your phone service is disconnected for non-payment and turned back on? Will management have to reprogram everything again?

Does this mean the bell doesn’t ring at all? Only the phone? Does this mean all visitors must have my phone number? I don’t give all my relatives my home number? lol

Also, when someone rings the bell, will caller ID let me know whether it’s the door or a call? Sometimes all this high tech stuff just takes away from privacy.

I have a phone service like Vontage except its from T-Mobil and I would like to know if this is possible. I have a T-Mobil router that I hook a phone line into to use a regular phone over the internet. I’d like to be able to monitor those calls.

I want a Tracfone or another prepaid phone for only text messaging. Which phone service has the cheapest text messaging and how much is it? How much is tracfone? The only important part is that no bill is sent to the house and it can be prepaid with prepaid cards.

I will have one additional fax line. The phone service will provide hunting, etc., and I wonder if a phone system is a waste here. Would a a 3-4 line phone work just as well?
